How can you have a summer picnic without the aroma of smoky barbecue in the air? Charcoal grills give off a classic smoky flavor that brings a unique twist to your food. When grilling, fats and oils (all the good stuff) fall into the hot coals, hissing and creating steam that is re-injected into the food.
Proponents of propane tell you that you'll "taste the meat, not the heat."

Is it better to grill with charcoal or gas?
Charcoal is hotter and faster. This helps to get the perfect char on a steak or grilled vegetables. Unless you're using a gas grill with an infrared burner (which heats food more directly than a regular grill), you're better off using charcoal.
