There are a number of different types to choose from. These include
Radiant Furnaces
This type of furnace transfers heat to the surrounding air through a glass door and body. The closer you are to a radiant furnace, the warmer it feels, making it ideal for localized space heating.
Convection Furnaces
Convection furnaces are designed with another layer wrapped around the outside of the furnace body, and cool air is drawn into the convection layer. The air warms up as it rises inside the furnace and then flows into the room. This type of stove is ideal for larger rooms with high ceilings that require high heat output.
Multi-fuel stoves
Multi-fuel stoves are convenient for burning both wood and smokeless fuels. Firewood burns best on a bed of ash with air circulating above it, while solid fuels require air circulation below. To accommodate both options, the multi-fuel stove has a raised grate.

Boiler stoves
A good option to help further reduce the carbon footprint of a home, boiler stoves generate hot water to power radiators. Some have the option to link to your existing gas or oil central heating system, thereby helping save energy at home, and reducing home heating bills.
Pellet stoves
These burn compressed wood or biomass pellets. Most feature a built-in hopper which is loaded with pellets and then operates autonomously for about 12 hours. This makes them very convenient to use.
