How long does a Corten steel outdoor wood-burning fire pit last?

Under normal conditions, and if the surface is alternately wet and dry, the patina forms and matures within 18-36 months. Some Corten Steel backyard campfire pits can even form a patina between 6 months and 1 year. However, the entire process can take between 4-10 years.

For backyard campfire pits that are 2mm-3mm in thickness, you can easily expect them to last for at least 25 years, if not more. All of our corten fire pits are 3mm thick or more, so you can rest assured that you will be able to enjoy your fire pit for many, many, years to come!
